We are pleased to introduce several options for Adult Sunday School this Fall. Also beginning on Sunday, September 17, from 10:00am – 10:45am there will be several adult Sunday School options. Living the Five: Pastor Jeff will be leading this five week study examining how each group in the church is called out to live the same five principles discussed in the study allowing the larger congregation to reach into smaller settings. Meets in classroom 1 in the church building.
Exploring the Bible: Facilitated by Ann Hicks, this book-by-book study starts with the Old Testament books of Exodus and Leviticus. Each week takes participants deeper into the Scripture, revealing context essential to understanding the text’s original intent and promoting transformation through God’s Word in everyday life. We will meet in classroom 2 in the church building, next to Peek Chapel.
“She’s Still There” by Chrystal Evans Hurst: A six week video women’s study facilitated by Lynn Roe, where the author shares what she’s learned about how to love and honor your life – even when it’s not easy to love. You will be encouraged to take an honest look where you might have gotten off track, recapture peace in the midst of hard seasons, and focus on the promise of God’s truth for your future. Even though the road is rough – you are a masterpiece that is simply a work-in-progress. We will meet in the Memorial Building dining room.

Christmas will be here before we snow it! Let’s get into the spirit and start playing, humming and learning how to use sign language to holiday songs. The sign language classes will begin on November 4, and run through November 25 right here at PYUMC. On the evening of December 1, we will perform our songs at the Penn Yan StarShine event. The following day, we will also visit local nursing homes to again sign our songs and spread some Christmas joy!
